Community Guidelines
We want to ensure Kinship remains a safe space to show up as yourself, be accepted without judgment, and engage in respectful and open conversation. By joining Kinship sessions, you commit to following these guidelines.
Maintain a Private & Safe Space
Help us create a space that feels safe for all: please no self-promotion or sharing of personal info! Everything shared in a Kinship session stays there.
Be Fully Present
Keep your camera on and heart open – make every moment an opportunity for real connection. Remain attentive & focused - don’t join from bed or be engaged in other tasks like driving, eating or working out while in session.
Practice Audio Etiquette
Please join from a quiet and private setting to avoid distractions and background noise, and mute yourself when not speaking.
Share Your Truth, Honors Others’
Speak from personal experience and avoid generalizations. Be respectful of others’ viewpoints, even if they differ from your own.
Balance Sharing & Listening
Each discussion is an opportunity for personal growth – not just a chance to vent. Engage equally and respectfully with others, making sure everyone has a chance to share.
Community Healing, Not Therapy
Kinship is a community platform for building connection through conversation – not a substitute for professional mental health support and not intended to be used as such. If you are having suicidal thoughts or may be in danger of harming yourself, please dial the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 800-273-8255. You can also seek immediate assistance from a counselor via this Crisis Text Line.
